Söll is a large ski resort in Tyrol, in the western part of Austria and forms part of Ski Welt Wilder Kaiser with 279 km of slopes. 210 kilometers are covered by snow cannons and 91 ski lifts take you around the area. Söll is open between December and April (closes often quite early in April).
Söll is suitable for skiers of all levels and since it also is part of Ski Welt, there are endless opportunities to explore new areas and slopes. However, the area is most well-suited for those who are not looking for very advanced pistes or off-pist skiing. Beginners and families also happily settle into this area.
The well-known mountain Hohe Salve towers high above the town with some beautiful red (quite easy) and some black slopes. Further down the valley there are beginners and children's areas. You will normally ski in forested areas. There is also an area where you can attempt to go off-pist, but still close to the ski and lift system, easily accessible.
There are more than 70 good restaurants and cafés around the mountain, where you can indulge on a good meal, try the traditional goulash soup or just have a beer and relax in a sun bed.
If you feel like ending your skiing day with some after-ski and a glass of wine or beer, Söll is known for providing a good amount of fun around the clock.
Well worth mentioning is also the slopes for tobogganing/sleigh rides where you can rent classic sledges and go down the hill for several kilometers. They are open both day and night and suit the whole family except for the very youngest.
