Mythical Jackson Hole in the state of Wyoming is a virtual Mecca for people crazy about powder snow! And who isn’t ...? The annual precipitation of snow is 11.6 m.

Jackson Hole is at the foot of the Teton Range with the mountains Rendezvous and AprèsVous. The resort has been popular since the end of the sixties and is annually visited by all kinds of people from families with kids to off-piste freaks. Everybody finds something suitable here and the skiing area is enormous. You wish you were alone in this wonderful environment, but a lot of people come here. At the same time there is plenty of space and the ski-lifts are not crowded.

Jackson Hole suits experienced skiiers best. Most of the pistes are what we Europeans usually classify as black or red, but there are, of course, easier slopes too. Maybe the pistes are not as long as they usually are in the European Alps, but they are most likely to produce a lot of adrenaline and give you some cool experiences. Try heli skiing and you are in heaven!

Where to stay

Jackson Hole consists of two main parts: the village of Teton and the ski resort Jackson Hole Mountain Resort. It is easy to find somewhere to stay. There are plenty of various alternatives. Teton Village has lodges, hotels, apartments and also a youth hostel. In the village itself you can find bed and breakfast places as an alternative to camping. If you are keen on a real adventure you can even find lodging in a yurt!

Relax after skiing

For those who wish to vary skiing och snowboarding with other activities there is a wide variety to choose among. Of course there are cross-country trails and you can rent snow-mobiles, but there are also other thrilling alternatives such as dog sledges, heli lifts or walks on snow-shoes. Who is not dreaming of travelling in a sledge across a beautiful winter landscape? If you are tempted indulge yourself with some luxuary after a day skiing or if you need a rest, you will need to choose carefully. Relaxing classical massage, aromatherapy or maybe some facial treatment?
