Chamrousse is a French ski resort that offers excellent skiing. It is located at the southern part of the Belledonne mountain range, around 30 kilometers from Grenoble. In total there are 24 ski lifts and 46 ski slopes. The season in Chamrousse is normally from December to April. It is very family friendly, but there are also options for those in search of major challenges.

Travelling to Chamrousse

There are two airports nearby: Grenoble Saint Geoirs, 50 kilometers away, and Aix Les Bains 57 kilometers away. Continue your travel from the airport by bus or car. Renting a car in advance is usually the easiest way.

Wide selection of ski pistes, even for advanced skiers

The 46 ski slopes of Chamrousse offer something for all. Most of the ski pistes are graded quite easily to moderate, but there are some pistes available for advanced skiers. About 22 ski slopes are recommended for beginners. Intermediate skiers have 12 more to choose from and 6 pistes are graded as difficult. There is also a good ski park to visit, that offers big jumps, half-pipes and a lot of other fun. If you only want to ski in the ski park, you can buy a special ski pass at a discounted price.

Other activities and entertainment

If you want to rest for a day or just do something else instead than hit the slopes, you can try cross-country skiing. There are 55 kilometers of tracks to choose from. If you want to feel some adrenaline, you can try parasailing. Or if you want to really stand out from the crowd, you can have a swim in the frozen lake and even dive in it. If you like motorized sports, you can also drive on the ice or rent a snowmobile.
There are also more calm activities such as dog-sledding.
If you just want to relax and take it easy after a long day, you can try the sauna, swimming pool or spa.
