This ski resort was formerly known as Squaw Valley but had to change its name when Squaw in the name was considered "racist and sexist slur" by the local Indian Washoe tribe, and thus the ski resort today is instead Palisades Tahoe since September 2021.

Palisades Tahoe's high elevation and abundant snowfall create a perfect winter landscape for skiing, with a ski season that often extends into late spring and allows for a longer than normal ski season.
