3 Things to Do Before You Book

Booking your next ski holiday? There are actually a number of things you’ll want to remember. Here’s a quick list you may want to consult before you start clicking online.
  • Look at the accommodations carefully. If you’re expecting a trip to the sauna each night after you’ve been on the slopes or a dip in the hot tub, you’re going to be disappointed if the hotel or resort you booked doesn’t offer that. Remember to review the amenities carefully before you make your selection.
  • Find out how far away the mountain actually is. If you’re taking a ski holiday to the Alps, the chances are good that you’re not going to have to walk very far to find the closest lift. If you’re skiing in another location, though, you may need to find transport from your lodgings to the ski lifts, and if you’re not sure where to go or how to get there, you could be carrying your skis, helmet, and pack some distance before you even begin to see slope. Plan things carefully before you book so you have the transport you need.
  • Flying? Taking a train? How are you getting to your lodgings initially? If you plan to hit rush hour, you may also want to prearrange transportation to reach your lodgings so you don’t get stuck without a cab.
Even after you book and begin getting ready for your trip, don’t forget to pack what you need! It may be tough to get exactly what you’re looking for once you reach your lodgings, depending on where you’re staying, so make a packing checklist before you leave so you don’t struggle to find the stuff you happened to leave at home.

A ski holiday can be a great way to get away, but a little planning before you go is nothing short of essential.
