If you are looking for a calm ski resort that suits the entire family, Isola 2000 is perfect. It is a small ski resort at a low altitude just an hour and a half from Nice. When the sky is clear you can see all the way to the Mediterranean. The weather is usually beautiful as you are far down south in France. In case you would like to do something else than ski for a day, you have the Côte d’Azur to explore with Nice, Cannes, Antibes and Juan-les-Pins.

This place is perfect for a family vacation and good size for a weekend or a full week with children. Isola 2000 has a total ski system of 120 kilometers of pistes, divided into 42 ski slopes. The altitude ranges from 1,800 meters to 2,610 meters.

Hospitable Isola

Isola 2000 is known for having a hospitable atmosphere and to welcome all guests and make you feel at home. You will feel at home from start in this friendly ski resort.

This ski resort is very family oriented and well suited for children. There are all facilities you could wish for, from bowling and cinema to a daycare center. They care for your youngest children from 15 months to four years and make sure they have fun while you are skiing. If you have older children there are ski schools.

You can also bring your children to the Aquatic Center, a swimming pool which is appreciated by children of all ages – and adults too.

Skiing in Isola 2000

The ski slopes are divided into two regions: Lombarde and Méné.
The Lombarde Area faces the south and you will enjoy sunshine all day long if the skies are clear. On the Méné Area the sun passes by around lunch time and the afternoon rides can be enjoyed in the shade, which is excellent during warmer periods as you also avoid melting snow.

The ski area contains 7 green, 21 blue, 11 red and 3 black ski slopes. There is also a very good and technically advanced snowboard park with big jumps and rails. You can of course come here on skis as well.

Travelling to Isola 2000

Isola 2000 is only 37 kilometers from Nice so this is your best airport: Nice côte d’Azur. During the winter time, Nice is a less popular flight destination so it is usually rather easy to find very cheap flight tickets. However, some direct flights to Nice from other major European cities don’t operate during the winter time so you might need a transfer en route.

Upon arrival, pick up a rental car at one of the largest rental car hubs in Europe, or catch the airport transfer to Isola. Make sure you check departure times in advance as this only runs at certain periods. The bus number is usually number 750.
